2016 BC JUNIOR INVITATIONAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Final Results:
Girls: 1. Crofton House School 2. Shawnigan Lake 3. Brentwood College 4. Terry Fox Secondary
Boys: 1. St. George’s School  2. Archbishop Carney Regional School 3. Shawnigan Lake 4. Brentwood College
On May 12 and 13, 2016 twelve junior boys teams and eight junior girls teams played for the right to callthemselves Provincial Champions. The tournament was played at the Burnaby Lake Tennis Club under sunnyskies and very warm temperatures.The Boys and Girls play on separate teams at the junior high level with the format being 4 singles matches and2 doubles matches with a super tiebreaker being used to break a 3-3 set tie.There were many close matches, great rallies andterrific shot making over the 2 days. After thelast ball had been struck the St. Georges JuniorBoys narrowly defeated Archbishop Carney in asuper tiebreaker to take the junior boys title. On the girl’ side, Crofton Junior Girls won a hard fought match against Shawnigan Lake School toclaim the title. St. George’s celebrates their second consecutive Junior Boys  Championship
During the two days the tournament participants and coaches were treated to an all you can eat Barbeque which kept the competitors fueled and ready for action.
