Congratulations to the Coaching Association of Canada on their fourth annual NATIONAL COACHES WEEK (September 23-30)! Coaches were recognized for the integral role that they play in empowering Canadian athletes and communities. Life memories don’t happen without the support of 20,000 high school coaches across our province.
Selected by OFSAA, and recognized during Coaches Week, the 2018 male and female recipients of the Coaching Excellence Award in the “School Sport Coach” category are IAN “ATKY” ATKINSON and DAWNMANEROWSKI.

Over 140 schools will benefit from the Ontario Ministry of Education TRY Day grant during the 2018-19 school year.
Schools are motivating students to engage in physical activity and sport by offering fun offerings such as; bubble soccer, disc golf, pickleball, kinball and spikeball, just to name a few.
Thank you to all of the schools that applied and we are pleased to announce that the program is sold out again this year!
CIOS PROGRAM
Let’s look to educate more volunteers, teachers and coaches through theCOACHING IN ONTARIO SCHOOLS (CIOS) program. Developed by OFSAA and the Coaching Association of Canada, CIOS is designed to train teacher-coaches and community coaches. Please contact Denise Perrier (denise@ofsaa.on.ca) if you are interested in hosting or offering a workshop at your school or in your association.
OFSAA has partnered with the Canadian Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (CIAAA) to promote, support and train existing and aspiring Athletic Directors/Coordinators. The Coaching Association of Canada launched the Keeping Girls in Sport program in late September during National Coaches Week. The 90 minute online module is free for the first 10,000 users and coaches will earn two PD points towards NCCP certification. Learn more here.
