COACH DEVELOPER UPDATE
Become a Certified Coach Developer!
Coach Developers are the leaders, the role models, and the ambassadors of the National Certified Coaching Program (NCCP). They provide standardized delivery of the NCCP across Canada, both in a sport-specific and in a multi-sport environment. Being evaluated and receiving a certified status demonstrates to other coaches that you meet the NCCP Coach Developer standards and believe in the standardized delivery of coaching excellence.
“As a Learning Facilitator, Coach Evaluator, and Master Coach Developer, I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of becoming certified. Being evaluated as a Coach Developer has allowed me to grow and become aware of areas of improvement.
The evaluation process for Coach Developers brings credibility as a Coach Developer, but more importantly, to the whole NCCP. We are demonstrating a growth mindset which we want to model for our coaches!”
– Dave Malowski, a recently certified Basketball MCD, and an Assistant Coach with the Carleton Ravens Women’s Basketball team.
We encourage all coaches in the NCCP to become a certified Coach Developer. The following is a step-by-step process to achieve certified status in each of the three roles: Learning Facilitator (LF), Coach Evaluator (CE), and Master Coach Developer (MCD).
