School Sports NL Welcomes New Communications Coordinator

St. John’s, NL – School Sports Newfoundland & Labrador (SSNL) is pleased to announce and welcome Weichien Chan as the organization’s new Communications Coordinator. Chan will be responsible for the internal and external communications of School Sports NL, as well as implementing the Marketing and Communications strategy.

“I was attracted by the mandate of SSNL that focuses on helping kids across the province get active through physical activity. I am thrilled to be joining and collaborating with the team to contribute to this incredible vision,” Chan comments.

Chan is a Commerce graduate from Memorial University of Newfoundland who recently returned to Canada after a year of teaching English in Istanbul. She held various marketing and communications positions in both B2B and B2C companies across the city, including locally owned Rocket Bakery & Fresh Foods and Quorum Information Technologies, headquartered in Calgary. She also completed two international study exchanges in Norway and Belgium, where she spearheaded an art and photography project aimed at raising funds for refugees who were living there.
