The Portage Collegiate Institute Saints won the Manitoba High School Provincial Fastpitch Championship for the third straight year. They went undefeated through the tournament and defeated Stonewall 11-1 in the championship final.

It was a total of three games for the Saints on Saturday. They opened the playoff round at 9:30 in the morning against Vincent Massey Brandon and won 11-1. They met with Nellie McClung in the semifinal and shut them out 10-0 to punch their ticket to the final.

“We started early and Kassidy Cunningham pitched all day for us,” says head coach Cam Asham. “The end was really exciting. The girls were really happy, and we were all happy with how we played. Everyone is really excited.”

The Saints have successfully defended their provincial championship twice. Asham says they coaching staff was impressed all year by their work ethic.
