The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association is pleased to announce its September High School Rural and Urban Coaches of the Month.

Nathan Falk, Head Coach of the Elmwood Giants Football Team is September MHSAA Urban Coach of the Month.  They are currently undefeated with a 5-0 record. Coach Falk draws players in and then draws the best out of them. This year’s victories are based upon a tremendous team effort that is performing well in all aspects of the game. This baseball/hockey player/coach stepped into the head coach’s role last year, after one year of assistant coaching and took the team to the Currie Division Championship game.

Grant Caldwell of Nellie McCLung Collegiate in Manitou is the September Rural Coach of the Month. Grant has coached several sports over the years at Nellie McClung Collegiate including basketball, volleyball, hockey, and fast pitch.

Grant lead his girls Stingers fast pitch team to a provincial championship in Landmark this past June.  This is the first ever provincial title for Nellie McClung.  Grant started coaching fast pitch 7 years ago and since that time has helped his team win 5 zone championships as well as a provincial bronze, silver, and now gold medal. He is also assistant coach of the hockey team this year.
