MHSAA December Coaches of the Month

Jeff Scarcello of Lord Selkirk Regional School has been selected as SUBWAY Urban MHSAA Coach of the Month for December 2013.

Jeff coached the Royals to two consecutive appearances in the AAAA Boston Pizza Varsity Boys Volleyball Provincials, including a Championship this past December.  He has been head coach of the Lord Selkirk Varsity Boys for two years.

Jeff devotes countless hours to the preparation of his teams.  His attention to detail is meticulous.  While he emphasizes skill development, and tactical knowledge of the game, Jeff feels just as strongly about developing the character and work ethic of his players.  He develops successful people, not just successful athletes.

Jeff is a valued member of the Royals Phys Ed staff and also coaches badminton and baseball at Lord Selkirk.

Keith Braaksma, boys Volleyball coach for Glenboro School, has been selected as the SUBWAY Rural MHSAA Coach of the Month for December 2013.

Keith has coached the boys’ varsity volleyball team the past several years, and this season, also coached the JV boys’ volleyball team.  Keith is a community coach  and certainly has gone above and beyond putting in his personal time by being involved in the school volleyball program.   “The players and parents on any of Keith’s teams are very respectful of his efforts as he brings forward to our program great energy, knowledge, respect, and commitment”, stated Principal Kevin Newton.

This year Keith’s Junior Varsity boys boys captured the 2013 Provincial A/AA Championship, and  the Varsity squad took silver at the Provincial “A” Championship.
