2013-2014 Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarships Awarded

jon-damanJonathan Daman was captain of the Niverville Panthers boys’ volleyball team that advanced to the Provincial “AA” Championships.  He is also co-president of the student council, and a member of the schools honour roll.  Jonathan also participates in Soccer and Basketball, while also being very active in church activities.  He is hoping to attend Canadian Mennonite University and play for their Volleyball team next year. 

 

jessica-gundrumJessica Gundrum, is a setter and captain for the Prairie Mountain (Somerset) Predators Volleyball team.  She maintains a 94% average, and also participates in Cross Country, Basketball, Curling, Badminton, Fast Pitch and Track and Field.  Jessica is also quite active in her community, being a member of the Swan Lake Leos Club.  She is hoping to attend University of Manitoba next year and enroll in Education, and then hopes to return to rural Manitoba to teach and coach.

 

brandon-sutherlandBrandon Sutherland is captain of 2013 Provincial “AAAA” Champion Lord Selkirk Royals, where he was selected as Most Valuable player.   He has a 96% average, and also trained with the Provincial 17U team.  Brandon also helps to coach club volleyball in the Spring.  Brandon, who also volunteers for a number of community programs is hoping to attend a CIS school next year to study Environmental Sciences and play Volleyball.

 

kalena-schulzKalena Schulz was captain of the Provincial “AAAA’ Champion Mennonite Brethren Hawks Volleyball team, and selected as a graduating all star.  Kalena has a 93% average and is an active participant in the school service program.  She is also involved with the Junior Church program.  Kalena will attend University of Manitoba next year, to play for the Bisons, and hope to pursue a career in sport therapy.
