LOUISDALE, N.S. – Amherst Regional High School captured the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 2 baseball provincials in Louisdale on Sunday.
Amherst defeated École secondaire de Par-en-Bas of Tusket 5-2 to claim the title for the school.
Richmond Academy, the host and only Cape Breton school in the tournament, finished the event with a 1-2 record.
Richmond opened the tournament with a 9-5 win over Eastern Shore District High School on Saturday, however later in the day were defeated 18-1 by École secondaire de Par-en-Bas. The team also lost 11-3 to Amherst on Sunday.
The Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 1 provincial tournament was scheduled to be played last weekend in Wolfville and was expected to feature Glace Bay High School and Riverview High School.
The tournament was moved to this weekend because of weather and field conditions.
