Congratulations to our October School Sport New Brunswick Athletes of the month, Nathalie and Jeremy.
Nathalie plays a key role in both soccer and hockey and is co-captain of the soccer team and assistant captain of the hockey team. In addition to her personal performance, she is more focused on her teams’ success.. She demonstrates good leadership and makes sure that everyone feels like an important part of the team, regardless of the sport. Furthermore, Nathalie has a grade point average above 90% and only misses school for sports competitions, and keeps up with her work when she does.
Jeremy is a great leader in every aspect of the school. He is on the student leadership team, the captain of the soccer team, plans and implements unified basketball for the school, and he has created his own Unified basketball program, that happens on Friday evenings (shooting stars). This is where he offers a uniquley abled basketball programs for youth from all the southern school communities.
Congratulations to both athletes and thank you to the coaches and staff for taking the time to acknowledge these amazing students.

Reid Hart had an outstanding month, participating in cross-country, golf and powerlifting for Westisle.

She had an exceptional day at Brudenell River Golf Course at the golf provincials, winning individual gold with a score of 75. That score was good for second overall.

Later that week, she ran at the X-Country provincials hosted at Charlottetown Rural. In the same week of both provincial championships on the Friday/Saturday, she volunteered to score every game at the Wolverine Classic at the women’s tournament at Callaghan and has been a reliable scorer for volleyball games throughout the season.

Reid is a captain for powerlifting, where she leads by example in consistency and effort at lunch time or after school.

Jonathan Kent is a grade 12 student at Bluefield. He was 4th in Sr Men’s Cross Country and was pivotal in Bluefield’s second AAA Men’s Soccer Championship in the last 2 years. Jonathan scored in overtime to give his school the championship.

Jonathan is a student who also helps with the schools athletics initiatives in a volunteer role.

For his their athletic performances, leadership, and volunteerism, Reid and Jonathan are deserving of being recognized as PEISAA October’s Athlete of the Month.
