The Great Lakes Wolfpack are OFSAA baseball champions.
The Wolfpack rallied to beat the Whitby Sinclair Celtics 16-9 in the gold-medal game Wednesday in London.
The Wolfpack defeated Mississauga St. Marcellinus 8-3 in a semifinal Wednesday morning.
The OFSAA title is the first for Great Lakes, which was created in 2016 by the amalgamation of Sarnia Collegiate and St. Clair.
The Wolfpack fell behind early in the gold-medal game. They trailed 4-2 in the second inning before storming back.
The victory avenged their 8-5 loss to Sinclair at the OFSAA East Regional last week. Sinclair qualified for the OFSAA semifinals with that win, while Great Lakes had to win its next game to join them at the Final Four.
St. Marcellinus beat Pickering 22-12 in a rain-delayed bronze-medal game.
Great Lakes is the seventh SWOSSAA team in nine years to win the OFSAA championship. Lakeshore St. Anne won three gold medals during that stretch, Windsor Holy Names two and Windsor Massey one.
