ASSOCIATION DIRECTORS’ & OFFICERS’ LIABILITY
INSURANCE RENEWAL

This is a reminder the policy for Association Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance comes up for renewal August 31, 2018. For those associations that purchased coverage for this current school year, the policy will be automatically renewed with the same premium.

If you no longer wish coverage you MUST contact our office to advise before June 30th.

For associations that have not purchased this insurance, an application must be completed. Please contact Beth Hubbard at beth@ofsaa.on.ca


2018 CHARACTER ATHLETE AWARD WINNERS
OFSAA is pleased to celebrate the efforts of the student-athletes in Ontario that excelled on the playing field and in the classroom, in both school and community. CHLOE JAKOB and BEN ZWOLAK stood out for their commitment to OFSAA’s values of leadership, equity, respect and sportsmanship. Chloe and Ben will each receive a $1,000 grant from Jostens. The ‘School Sport Effect’ Advocacy Video Series
OFSAA is very pleased to have their new video series available to the public. Click here to find out what this initiative is all about and how we got here. Go ahead — click on any of the four images directly below to view Dear Coach, Dear Mom & Dad, Dear Student and Success Stories. It is our hope that they can be utilized at an upcoming school event, banquet or meeting. All four videos are available in French. Over 140 schools benefitted from the Ontario Ministry of Education TRY Day grant during the 2017-18 school year.
Schools motivated students to engage in physical activity and sport by offering fun offerings such as; bubble soccer, disc golf, pickleball, kinball and spikeball, just to name a few. The application for the upcoming school year is available now and can be found here. Don’t delay — TRY Day grants fill quickly!
TRYDay activities also made great content for student-movie makers at Renfrew Collegiate. Please check out their short YouTube video here.
CIOS PROGRAM

Let’s look to educate more volunteers, teachers and coaches through the Coaching In Ontario Schools (CIOS) program. Developed by OFSAA and the Coaching Association of Canada, CIOS is designed to train teacher-coaches and community coaches. Please contact Denise Perrier (denise@ofsaa.on.ca) if you are interested in hosting or offering a workshop at your school or in your association on “CIOS Day” onSeptember 11 from 3:30 to 7 pm.

BOYS’ GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP (2018)
Please note that the Boys’ Golf Championship in the fall will continue to have an “Open Division” and a “High School Division”.
OFSAA is pleased to announce a new five-year sponsorship agreement with Baden Sports, the exclusive football to be used in all OFSAA football bowls beginning this fall. Schools have the opportunity to purchase 10 footballs plus receive two free footballs in the first year when purchasing either model FX400, F9C and or the F7000L (must be all same model). OFSAA’s ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
This year OFSAA’s Alumni Scholarship Association is awarding two $500 scholarships to deserving students from this year’s eligible Associations (CISAA, GHAC, NCSSAA & NWOSSAA). The Alumni Scholarship Association Selection Committee is pleased to announce that Sarah Martin from Redeemer Christian HS in Ottawa (NCSSAA) and Ben Zwolak from Cardinal Newman CSS in Stoney Creek (GHAC) are this year’s recipients.
