OFSAA Introduces Para Alpine Skiing

In an effort to expand OFSAA’s Para sport offerings, high school para student-athletes are encouraged to attend as forerunners at this year’s Alpine Skiing Championship as well as to take part in the banquet festivities for a full OFSAA experience.

It is the goal of the Alpine organizing committee that next year (2018) we will host the para alpine competition as a demonstration sport.

All high school para student-athletes are encouraged to participate! Para athletes are expected to declare their intent to participate through their association’s Alpine convenor. Para athletes must adhere to all behaviour and supervision regulations. Lift ticket fees are covered by the organizing committee but all other standard Championship expenses are to be covered by the individual.

The OFSAA Alpine Skiing Championship takes place at Blue Mountain on Feb. 27-28, 2017.

Alpine joins Track & Field, Cross Country, Nordic Skiing, and Swimming as OFSAA Championships with a para sport component.
