OFSSA Spring 2020 Newsletter

With the unfortunate cancellation of our remaining championships and festivals for the 2019-20 school year, I extend a sincere thank you to the close to 10,000 student-athletes and coaches that dedicated themselves to represent their schools at these events. We would like to acknowledge and thank all the convenors and committee members who volunteered their time and had been planning diligently for over a year. Their work is truly appreciated.

We will still be accepting nominations and providing many awards and scholarships through a variety of different OFSAA programs. Please see the list below, visit our website or contact a member of our staff if you have any questions. Our office staff is currently working from home but we are readily accessible through email and voicemail.

I wish everyone a healthy spring.

Regards,

Doug Gellatly,
Executive Director, OFSAA

Online mental health resources are also welcome. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise in this time of uncertainty.

Nominate A Teacher For The Coaching Excellence Award! The Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) recognize outstanding coaches and their contributions to both their sport and athletes in the province with the “Coaching Excellence Awards”. The selection of recipients (1 male and 1 female teacher-coach) by OFSAA in the “School Sport Category” is based on their contribution to sport through continuous development of new coaches and encouraging athletes to give back to sport.
