SUMMERSIDE – The Queen Charlotte Coyotes won the P.E.I. School Athletic Association Intermediate Boys Baseball League championship in convincing fashion.
The Coyotes trimmed the Summerside Intermediate School Owls 11-1 in the gold-medal game at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Very Important Volunteer Field on Wednesday.
Tanner MacLean was dominant in earning the pitching win against the Owls. The left-hander gave up just five hits while striking out nine.
Offensively, Noah Dow, Brett Arsenault and Dylan Worth all had two hits apiece to pace the Coyotes. Kal White delivered the game-ending RBI to go along with two great defensive players in centre field.

For the Owls, Liam Greenan and Noah Gallant both had 2-for-3 batting summaries, with a double.
Landon Gallant started on the hill for the Owls, and was relieved by Jacob Dunn.
Bronze medal
In the bronze-medal game, Birchwood scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Stonepark 4-3.
Earlier in the day, Queen Charlotte got by Stonepark 7-4 in one semifinal while Summerside Intermediate blanked Birchwood 10-0 in the semifinals.
