Woitas, Exner lead Regina at high school track provincials

Mikayla Swallow from Swift Current competes in the shot put during the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association track and field championships Saturday in Saskatoon.
Two Reginans — Kailee Woitas of Miller and Matthew Exner of Riffel — won individual aggregate titles at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association track and field championships, which concluded Saturday in Saskatoon.

Woitas was first in the midget girls division with 66 points, followed by LeBoldus athletes Natalia McCullough (54) and Callum Kraft (50).

Exner had 70 points, the most of anyone at the meet, to win the senior boys division. Brayden Mytopher of Strasbourg was third, with 45 points.

Kaitlyn Harrison of Lumsden had 68 points to lead all junior girls competitors. Kalea Sauder of Swift Current had 54 points to finish second.

In the senior girls division, Kendra Farmer of Saskatoon Centennial led the way with 66 points. Skylar Smith of Lemberg was next with 52. Kaila Neigum of Miller, Joely Welburn of Balgonie and Jordyn Mann of Dinsmore were tied for third with 48 points.

Trey Pernitsky of Saskatoon Centennial had 54 points to finish first in the junior boys individual standings. Quincy Telus of Moosomin had 50 points to finish second in that category.

Tobias Patmore of Saskatoon Christian led the midget boys division with 54 points.

Saskatoon had 1,926 points to finish first in the district standings. Horizon Central (1,318) was second, followed by Regina (1,310).
