St John’s, NL – School Sport Canada is pleased to announce that Mr. Tyler Callaghan has been appointed as its Executive Director. Tyler has a strong background in and knowledge of the Canadian School Sport system. His experience working with the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association, his establishing of the Canadian Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and his prior work with School Sport Canada made Tyler the ideal candidate. Accordingly to Karen Richard, School Sport Canada President, “Hiring an Executive Director for School Sport Canada is a pivotal move for our organization which I am sure will prove beneficial for our organization and school sports programs throughout Canada. I am confident that the experience and enthusiasm that Tyler brings to this new position will ensure School Sport Canada becomes the national voice for school based sports programs.”
