SSNL 2015-16 Award Winners

School Sports Newfoundland & Labrador is proud to announce our 2015-16 Award Winners. Once again an exceptional group of volunteers, coaches, and student athletes were nominated. School Sports NL’s success is incredibly dependent on the dedication and time of its coaches and volunteers, as well as, the devotion and both the academic and athletic achievement of its student athletes. We thank all our nominees for their commitment and we congratulate the winners on their well-deserved awards.

COACHING SERVICE AWARDS

This award is intended for the coach who has a long history of involvement in school sport. It is intended to recognize the coach who has a strong developmental program in the school, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the total development of the student-athletes in his/her program. While winning is not the only criteria for success – this coach should have produced consistent teams over their coaching career. Any coach with a minimum of 25 years coaching school sports will be eligible for this award.

HONOUR AWARD

The Honour Awards are presented annually to individual(s) in recognition of outstanding service to school athletics at the provincial, regional and/or zone levels. The nominee must have made significant contributions to school sports over at least a ten year period or have made a single outstanding contribution.

REGIONAL RECOGNITION AWARDS (One per region)

A Recognition Award is presented annually to an individual from each of the School Sports NL’s eleven regions. The recipient, selected at the regional level, shall be a coach, a convenor, an official or an administrator who is deserving of SSNL recognition to school sport
