Hello esports enthusiasts,
Gaming for Inclusion is here and registration is OPEN for athletes and unified partners!
Once again Special Olympics, Microsoft and Xbox are teaming up to bring you Gaming for Inclusion and we want you to join!
For the second year in a row, we are hosting a Rocket League tournament in September to showcase the great gamers across Special Olympics. The winners of all the tournaments will be eligible to compete with celebrities in a gaming showcase on September 17th that will be live streamed for the world to watch!
Some exciting news…we have confirmed that coaches from Cloud9 will be hosting training sessions for Rocket League! Cloud9 is one of the most recognizable esports organizations in the world and will be hosting several training and practice sessions just for Gaming for Inclusion participants. These training sessions will take place in late July and early August so REGISTER EARLY IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE!

Game Title: Rocket League
Console: Xbox and Gaming PC
Dates:
- Rocket League – Saturday Sept. 10 – Time TBD
- Rocket League Overflow Tournaments – Sunday Sept. 11 – Time TBD
- Celebrity Showcase – Saturday, Sept. 17 – Time TBD – LIVE STREAM
Tournament:
- Unified Doubles (2v2) – pairs must sign up as a team with 2 accounts on Start.gg
- Single elimination bracket where each matchup is a best of 3 series
Merchandise: All participants will receive a GFI t-shirt. However we will have more swag for purchase.
Notes:
- All skill levels are welcome to register, but please note that you may compete against players of higher skills/ranks.
- If athletes or unified partners would like to join the tournament but don’t have a partner have them register! We will do our best to find them a partner
- If athletes or unified partners aren’t familiar with Rocket League but want to play in the tournament we will provide a practice session(s) and lessons ahead of the tournament with Cloud9
- These tournaments are only available to Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners who own or have access to an Xbox console or a Gaming PC as well as have access to high-speed internet.
- Participants must be 15 years or older on game day.
- Make sure all participants join the GFI 2022 Discord channel as all communications to participants will be through Discord
- Rocket League is free to play on Xbox & PC. To download on Xbox, go to the Xbox Store and search Rocket League.
- To download on PC, go to Home – Epic Games, download the Epic Games Launcher, search Rocket League, and download the game.
- Must be registered by September 3, 2022
