On Wednesday January 22, join us from 7-8pm for a special 1-hour webinar about Supporting Your Athletes

Lead by Dr. Katherine Tamminen, Associate Professor at University of Toronto, this webinar will explore the role of the coach in providing support to athletes in everyday training environments, prior to major competitions, and in instances of athletes disclosing distress.

Using real-life case studies as a basis for discussion, Dr. Tamminen and her team will help you to identify best practices and strategies for improving the well-being of athletes and facilitating stronger coach-athlete relationships.

About Our Speakers

Katherine Tamminen, PhD

Dr. Tamminen is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Her research in sport psychology examines stress, coping, and emotions in sport, as well as interpersonal relationships between athletes and their coaches, teammates, and parents. Zoe Poucher

Zoë is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto studying mental health in Canadian high-performance athletes. She is interested in understanding athlete experiences in the Canadian sport system and identifying ways to foster improved athlete wellbeing and personal development. Jamie Bissett

Jamie is a two-time national champion and former Team Canada member in the sport of diving. He recently completed his MSc at the University of Toronto where his research focused on the role of coaches in supporting athlete mental health. He is a member of Dive Canada’s Athletes’ Committee and an ambassador for You Can Play.
